Gaze the moon – dream the dream
I was just starting to settle in at QVC, when in pops the backstage team and producers to tell me that they are finally moving to their fantastic location in Chiswick. QVC have secured a contemporary situation on the outer skirts of the city; which means a more streamlined commute for me. I took a couple of pictures in and around the studio so that you can enjoy the “behind the scenes” fun with me.
Isn’t it lush and green outside? A far cry from the old building in Battersea which, despite being just off the center of London, didn’t have much scenery other than the Battersea Dogs and Cats home. Oh! And the power station.
Oh, I say! Being greeted by Matt (who looks after guests at QVC) is quite easy on the old eyes.
So which way do I go? The Salon? Wardrobe? The Guest Suite?
I chose the guest suite which, I have to say is incredibly welcoming………
It’s so fresh and clean looking with a blast of wonderful light flooding the room.
And then there is the guest dressing room. Veeeeeeery Hollywood, don’t you think?
So, despite a little change in scenery, I’m actually feeling right at home at QVC and eager to share what we have in store. One hot favourite, right now, is Lace Tape. If you haven’t seen it already, picture a clear adhesive tape with a decorative pattern printed on the top. Perfect for making frames on your cards, especially if you are using acetate, folding into ruffles and spiraling to make flowers. There is so much on a roll, you could even fancy up a plain paper wrapped gift and let the tape add the finishing touch. The finishes come in either black or white and Im thinking the white lacey pattern would look great on wedding style cards with a couple of pearls or gems to soften the look. Here is a sample card that one of my team came up with, using the black lace style.
Isn’t it super?
Don’t forget to tune in on 23rd/24th May where QVC will be showcasing the latest Martha Stewart’s lines (always ones to watch with superb demonstrations from the Martha Stewart team themselves). Then why not join me on the 30th May at 1pm and 3pm as well as Amy Shaw at 2pm for some Early Bird Christmas Crafting; oh yes, it’s time to limber up for a festive 2012!

Chiswick has to be better than Battersea but still a long way from home. Miss you and the gang on C&C but unfortunately cannot seem to get on with QVC.
Can’t believe that on of your correspondents has already made all her Christmas cards. That’s what you call forward planning.
Anne Rubery says:
It looks good but it should have a Star suite with your name under Neath Because you are a star and we do need to see you often .good lick with the move

Very swish!!! Wonder how long the guest dressing room will stay that tidy and glitter free – lol! Just been watching ‘Martha Stewart’ and looking forward to meeting you at Doncaster – whoo hoo!!!
Rita Curtis says:
Looks great Steph, hope you have a wonderful time. I have made all my christmas cards which is just as well as it looks as though I may have arthritis in my neck and it is very painful. Hope it doesn’t stop me crafting for long!!!!! xx

I am so glad that you have moved to QVC. At least we get a good selection of crafts during the day rather than the same few items repeated several times during the day at C and C. I am looking forward to the Christmas show even tho’ I have stacks of Christmas stuff I expect you will come up with some must have items.

Thanks everyone for your lovely comments, there is still a lot to do craft wise at QVC but I know you will all be delighted with the improvements, I just hope everyone tunes in, we need two channels selling craft, so crafters have choice when it comes to shopping telly … Lots of love to you all hope you are enjoying the gorgeous weather xx
