Well it’s been very busy here lately and I feel bad that I’ve been neglecting you although it’s a very exciting time for me as I’m currently doing the photography for my new book! It’s a cake book and I’m doing my favourite one stroke painting technique onto cakes and I’m delighted to have been asked to do a book all about it with different flowers and techniques – I’ve been painting sunflowers, hearts, roses and a really modern black and white wedding cake.
I’ve even painted onto a chocolate coated cake which was very messy but also great fun!
This means that my painting is now edible, although it also means that my little dalmatians are on a constant sugar high from the amount of sugar dust in the air in the house at the minute, Grace is a very happy puppy at the moment lol.
My next book is a stencil book which I can’t tell you too much about at the minute but we’re doing photography for that just before Christmas. I can’t show you any of the projects from the book for the moment, but here’s a sneaky peek of one of my projects coming up in Cake Craft & Decoration Magazine in the new year:

Talking about Christmas are you all ready for Christmas? Are you making anything homemade for Christmas gifts this year?

I made this card using MCS die cut flowers, you can also print
them for yourself from the MCS CD “Paper Flower Expert” which I find very useful, it has lovely back ground papers on it as well. I got the white doily from the MCS stand at the SSEC Glasgow, a pack of around 250 11cm around you can get them this weekend at the show. Behind the doily I die cut a lovely pattern paper shape from my stash of die’s and cut it out using my grand caliber, the silver Doily is from another of my dies, the beautiful flowers in the middle I shaped and glittered, then using decoupage pads arranged them, then tucked the leaves behind. The corners I punched out of silver mirra card scored and shaped the edges on the underside giving a better finished, I then used a red permanent marker on the little stars you get on some diamante sheets and stuck them in the middle. The base card is a 5″square, I rounded the corners with a punch and used my finger to smudge around the outside edges with a metallic rub on medium. Finishing with a little Angel and a Happy Christmas peel off which again I coloured red with my permanent marker.

Good afternoon everyone

Oh you MUST tune in on Wednesday for a very special launch of a fantastic new product. Lily Rose dies are detailed and delicate, in fact I truly believe that they are the most intricate dies available. The range is designed around an exciting new concept of “3 in 1″, designed to work as standalone, embellishments or card fronts. Plus they are suitable for all die cutting machines.
Best of all, they are designed in the UK. As I know most of you are die-cut crazy, the designers have identified just exactly what you crafters LOVE and in return I know that you will LOVE them right back.
Tune in Wednesday at 2pm to get the first peek of these incredible new products.
